The 1&1 interface will create the sitemap for you, and after that you need to add it and verify it just as you normally would through the Google interface. <br/><br/>If you are already using Webmaster Tools through your Google Account, and have a good sitemap generator, you probably don't need the 1&1 feature, as it gives you minimal control and information compared to Webmaster tools on Google.com. It's more for people who aren't using the Google interface and otherwise wouldn't create a Google sitemap.
