Restaurant Review: Hunan Chef Wong, Pleasanton CA

I tried their sweet and sour chicken take-out a couple of months ago. It was passable, so when the kids decided they wanted Chinese food for dinner, (and were ready to let go of Rose’s A Chinese Cafe in Union City, our old family favorite) we were on our way.

The service was outstanding. There was only one other table occupied at 5pm though . Our ultra-friendly waiter, who called himself Uncle, was prompt and attentive. We had our regular meal of:

  • Egg rolls
  • Vegetable Chow Mein
  • Sweet and Sour Chicken
  • Steamed Rice
  • Hot Tea

No pork won ton soup this time. Everything was pretty tasty. Styrofoam to-go boxes. Not quite to the level of Rose’s, but a solid Tier 2 chinese restaurant. Uncle even drew a picture on our to-go box (he also painted the flower mural on the wall).

My daughter liked this restaurant so much that she picked it for her birthday dinner. She received a complimentary birthday orange (delcious).
